Founder & Principal Engineer

Sean M. Rasch

Systems Architect & AI Engineer, Sandusky, Ohio

I build the full stack, and I mean all of it. Circuit boards, operating systems, server infrastructure, web applications, AI platforms. Over 15 years I've shipped FDA-regulated medical devices, assembled bare-metal GPU inference nodes, built an AI appliance that puts 1,100+ tools across 75+ modules behind a single agent, founded two businesses, and built everything in between.

My career started at National Biological Corporation, where I designed Class II phototherapy devices and authored FDA 510(k) submissions. That regulatory rigor, formal risk assessments, verification protocols, traceability, still shapes how I approach every project. When I built the USI platform, the security model got the same scrutiny as a medical device: tiered authorization, cryptographically signed identity between services, audit logging, and an operator gate in front of anything destructive.

USI is patent pending (US Provisional Application No. 64/029,948) and runs in production on a paying client's own hardware, alongside my primary system and a demonstration unit. That same fleet is where I run a detection and response practice: vulnerability advisory triage against a live inventory, YARA rules written and benched against real corpora before anything is trusted, mail authentication hardening after a phishing campaign, and same-night response to a critical vulnerability in an internet-facing service.

Today I run Sunrise Consultants and Sound Grounds Coffee Shop, both out of Sandusky, Ohio. The consultancy specializes in AI integration and systems architecture. Sound Grounds is a tech-forward cafe where I designed the POS, the recording studio, the digital signage, and the streaming infrastructure. It's both a business and a proving ground for every venue technology service I offer.

What makes my work different is the range. Most engineers specialize. I cross disciplines because real problems do. A client who needs AI connected to their business systems also needs the server hardened, the network segmented, and the deployment automated. I handle all of that because I've been doing all of that, from hardware bring-up to production monitoring, for my entire career.

Beyond the Terminal

When not building production systems, Sean restores vintage electronics (NES, Commodore 64, tube amplifiers), writes 6502 assembly for retro hardware, and programs live music events at Sound Grounds. The same attention to detail that goes into a PCB layout or a security audit goes into recapping a 40-year-old motherboard.

Let's work together.

Whether it's connecting your business to AI, hardening your servers, or building something from scratch, I'd like to hear about it.
